About -Newtown ES

This year Newtown Elementary School is fully accredited and meets all our annual yearly progress goals. We have a reputation for emphasizing the implementation of technology in order to advance learning. Our students are taught traditionally, with laptop computers, Alpha Smarts, and interactive whiteboards. They receive instruction in classrooms and in a science and social studies lab.

Newtown encourages the involvement of families. We begin each year with a Meet and Greet the Teacher Night and an Open House. We also hold a variety of events ranging from Family Math Nights, SOL Family Learning Opportunities, and PTA sponsored entertainment, such as Family Movie Nights, Festivals, and more.

Our mission at Newtown is to create and nurture a cooperative environment for children, families, and staff that fosters respect, self-worth, interdependence, and life-long learning. All of us at Newtown, including faculty and cafeteria, custodial, clerical, and administrative staff, support and assist students in their pursuit of academic achievement. Newtown Elementary is home of the Eagles and home of some of the best educational opportunities children could have.
